Ugandan music giant Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool on Friday (3rd August 2018) put up an unforgettable concert held at the Kololo Airstrip in Kampala.
The singer’s 2018 concert dubbed “The Golden Heart’ attracted notable figures from the government and private sector, and thousands of fans.
The highlight of the event was the attendance by President Yoweri Museveni, who was the guest of honour, making Bebe Cool the first musician in Africa to have a serving President attending their show.
Museveni arrived at the concert at a few minutes to midnight, and the national Anthem was played before he walked to a special seat that had been prepared for him to watch the performances.
In three sessions, Bebe Cool performed dozens of his songs live, with hits like “Love You Every Day”, “Ki Ekiganye”, “Want it”, “Mbozi Zamalwa”, “Katono” and “Up and Whine” among others exciting revelers.
Other artistes including Fik Fameica, Allan Hendrick (Bebe Cool’s son) and Chizzo also performed at the concert.
Speaking at the concert, President Museveni said, “It gives me great joy to see young people like Bebe cool performing our traditional beats with modern instruments. These productions should be shared with the world”.
“Witnessing young people having fun peacefully gives me satisfaction with the work we have done over the last decades to ensure peace and security in our country,’ the President added.
According to Bebe Cool, the proceeds from his concert will go towards sending five children with heart complications for surgery in India in the coming weeks.
