The chief Magistrate’s court in Gulu has charged Kyadondo East legislator Robert Kyagulanyi Bobi Wine with treason and remanded him until Thursday August 30th.
This followed the State’s withdrawal of charges of illegal possession of military ammunition which had seen the legislator tried in court martuial and detained at a military facility.
Bobi Wine was however not allowed to enter any plea as the court has no jurisdiction to hear a case of treason which is capital.
As per a prayer by defence lawyers, court also directed that Bobi Wine together with his co accused be allowed to see private doctors so that they can access the medical attention they so deserve.
