Military, Police Deployed at MP Ssemujju Nganda’s Home Ahead of Bobi Wine Visit

Officers from the Uganda Police Force and the UPDF Friday morning surrounded the home of Kira Municipality MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda hours before the visit of singer and MP Bobi Wine.

Bobi Wine is the Kyadondo East MP.

Ssemujju Nganda is Bobi Wine’s predecessor in Kyadondo East.

A rising political figure, Bobi Wine, real name Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, is expected to be the main singer at a political rally in Kireka.

A number of opposition MPs are expected at the event that will see a Freedom Tree planted to celebrated MPs who opposed age limit removal.

Ssemujju also accused the officers of breaking into his home.

“My Home is under siege by the Military. All aimed at stopping my rally today,” tweeted Ssemujju Nganda.

“Military officers forced themselves in my compound.”

Ssemujju Nganda says he had notified police of the meeting.

MPs attending include Muwanga Kivumbi of Butambala, Muhammad Nsereko of Kampala Central, Kasozi Ibrahim of Makindye East, David Kalwanga of Busunjju, Allan Ssewanyana of Makindye East.

Others are Bakireke Nambooze of Mukono Municipality, Medard Segona of Busiro East, Mathias Mpuuga of Masaka Municipality, and Mubarak Munyagwa of Kawempe South.
