Panic as NSSF Offices Catch Fire

Fear and panic engulfed Workers House in the capital Kampala after the building caught fire.

The fire according to officials from the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) was discovered at around 5:00PM today after smoke was seen coming from the basement.

“Today at about 17:05hrs, an alarm went off at Workers House as a result of smoke emanating from one of the basement floors of the building,” NSSF posted via their Twitter platform.

This sparked uncontrolled movements as employees tried to flee the building.

But Police swung into action, evacuating the occupants of the building and preliminary findings show that no one was harmed.

“Within a few minutes, the entire building has been evacuated. Police Fire Brigade has arrived on the scene. Situation is now under control.” they added.
