The second episode, themed “Midnight drum” is happening 31st May 2019 at the MTN warehouse, starting 7pm at 20k for ordinary, and 10k for campus students with IDs. Performers and competitors will strongly be encouraged to craft their work along the theme.
This episode, will have competitions in Spoken word, Rap and Beat boxing. One victor from all three elements will take home the price of one million Uganda shillings, courtesy of Club, and the mechanics of winning are; contestants are to post a minute clip doing their thing on their social media pages and tag Evoke pages. The public holds a 40% stake on the final nominees selected therefore, contestant will ask their fans and friends to like/retweet their posts, which counts as a nomination. Three nominees from each element will be selected making the final nine contestants who will compete on 31st May.
Deadline for submission is Saturday, 19th May 2019. A renown poetry organization called “Babishai Niwe poetry foundation” will aid in the selection, training and judging process for the poetry/spoken word and the finalists from the Spoken word element will get a one chapbook poetry publication, every two years, including editing and proof reading as well as attending the annual poetry festival around the country, all courtesy of Babishai Niwe.
