Vivo Energy Uganda, through its premium brand Shell V-Power, has once again announced a sponsorship package worth UGX 110,000,000 towards the organisation of the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally.
The announcement was made at the launch of the 2019 edition of the Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Rally at Shell Bugolobi on Thursday.
Speaking during the unveiling of the sponsorship, Vivo Energy Uganda Managing Director, Gilbert Assi said, “Vivo Energy is delighted to continue with the support of the Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally. Shell’s commitment to innovation through motorsport is an integral part of the extensive Research & Development programme with Ferrari that is key to making better fuels for our customers. Shell’s technical partnership with Ferrari provides an environment to test our Shell V-Power fuels in extreme conditions. This provides us with a better understanding of what will deliver improved power and performance for your car engines, and why the Pearl of Africa rally trusts Shell V-Power.”
“In 2018 we launched Shell V-Power with DYNAFLEX Technology on the Ugandan market which is designed to clean and protect the engine for better efficiency and performance, thus enhancing engine power through actively protecting vital engine parts. It also has friction reducing molecules and a higher octane that reduces engine knock. This helps your engine to deliver performance to its potential – whatever car you drive. Fuel the Feeling, Fuel the Excitement, Feel Control, Feel confidence.”
In addition to sponsoring the Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda rally, Vivo Energy Uganda also sponsors four Ugandan champion drivers, Arthur Blick and Ronald Ssebuguzi, each with sponsorship funding of UGX 65,000,000, Omar Mayanja with 40,000,000 and Umar Kakyama with 5,000,000(who happens to be one of our colleagues at Vivo Energy Uganda) making a total sponsorship package of UGX 285,000,000.
The rally will give the drivers a chance to experience Shell V-Power – the fuel with the highest octane (RON 95) levels in the market today – giving them the best efficiency and performance.Filling up regularly helps customers receive the maximum performance and protection benefits that Shell V-Power premium fuels are designed to deliver.
The Federation of Motorsports Clubs of Uganda (FMU) President, Dusman Okee, said that “The contribution from Vivo Energy Uganda will help the event continue to be successful. We thank Vivo Energy Uganda for its continued and committed support towards the motorsport fraternity. As a federation, we are working closely with all stakeholders to host another successful event and preparations are already underway. A new better route has been planned for the competition.”
The Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally is one of the eight rounds of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) sanctioned African Rally Championship and will run from 2nd to 3rd Aug 2018.
