On Thursday, officials from the Uganda National Examination Board headed by Daniel Odongo, the executive secretary together with Uganda Police held a joint press conference to relay guidelines that should be followed during the examination period.
Police Spokesperson, Fred Enanga said they will deploy at least 1,800 officers at all Uganda Certificate of Education examination centres across the country.
Enanga also ordered schools to desist from blocking any student from sitting examinations on the grounds of not paying school fees.
He also revealed that police will escort examination papers to storage centres and these rooms will only be accessed in the presence of security personnel or a Uneb scout.
About 337,697 students are expected to sit UCE examinations across the country.
Odongo cautioned schools and students against examination malpratise.
Examinations will commence on Monday, October 14 with 535/3 Physics and the exams end on November 16.
