Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) the Kyadondo East Member of Parliament and Presidential hopeful has announced plans to meet the Electoral Commission boss Justice Simon Byabakama over his foiled consultations.
Bobi who requested to hold the consultative meetings regarding his presidential bid has been blocked thrice. On Monday he was stopped by the police in Gayaza from holding the consultation on account that the venue he chose did not have toilets, among other things.
The legislator was arrested together with some members of his team. He was prompted to announce that he would not attend his consultative meeting in Gulu although his team, he said, would be present to consult. Police did not allow it to happen.
On Wednesay the same fate followed him in Lira after the RDC of the areas said that Bobi and co had not sought permission from the owner of Pacific Grand Hotel to organize their meeting.
Speaking to the media, EC spokesperson Jotham Taremwa told the press that the commission has observed an need to meet with Bobi and device a compromise between him and police.
