Back to Business: Parliament Resumes

Parliament’s one month’s recess has come to an end.  The Parliamentary sittings are set to resume today with the first agenda being the national budget framework paper for the financial year 2020/2021.

Parliament was supposed to start resume earlier but, the office of clerk to Parliament has been postponing the Parliamentary sittings without giving clear reasons for the postponement. It has happened twice. Word in the corridors is that both times the speakers of parliament (Rebecca Kadaga and her deputy Jacob Oulanyah) were not present.

The acting director of Communication and Public Affairs at Parliament Hellen Kawesa says there is going to be a marathon since they’re starting later than the initially planned date.
