Police on Friday morning intercepted three unknown thugs who had broken into Land Mark Hostel Nakawa to steal.

According to Luke Oweyisigire, the Kampala Metropolitan Area spokesperson police was tipped off that a robbery was going on. A shooting is said to have happened.

The hostel is guarded by private guards. There was an exchange between the guard and the robbers who had accessed the hostel using master keys. The thugs stole phones and a laptop. The guard stopped them while they were making away, shooting one dead in the process. The deceased tried to put up a fight and grab the gun from the guard, but he was overpowered. Two of the thugs escaped.

The police have recovered one laptop and four phones.
