Five More People Test Positive for Covid19, Cases Rise to 23

Uganda has registered five more cases of the deadly Coronavirus disease, bringing the total number of patients to 23, announced the Health Ministry late Friday night.

According to a short statement posted on the Ministry’s social media pages, the five new cases came from the batch of 227 samples the Uganda Virus Research Institute tested on Friday.

President Museveni also announced four cases Friday morning. According to Dr Henry Mwebesa, the Director of Health Services, the cases that were confirmed from Thursday’s tests include  a 31 year old male who returned from Dubai on March 20, a 29 year old man who traveled from UK via Netherlands, a 48 year old woman who flew in from Turkey, and a 55-year-old male who returned from from Afghanistan.
