Covid19: Wholesalers, Lawyers and Garages Allowed to Operate

The President has eased a few lockdown restrictions allowing garages, wholesalers, insurance service providers and lawyers to operate.

Only 30 lawyers under the Uganda Law Society will be allowed to take care of arraignments.

Restaurants have been allowed to open, but only for takeaways. The President advised that restaurants observe social distancing while operating.

He also advised other people who have been allowed to do the same.

“We must start to slowly open up but without undoing our achievements,” he said while announcing the lifting of some restrictions.

Public and private vehicles remain grounded except for the essential workers with stickers. The President says the previous restrictions will stay for at least 14 days as the government monitors the situation.

Schools remain closed indefinitely. “Even is my grand children miss a term, or even a year, it’s better than risking their lives.”
Those going to work will have to use bicycles or walk.
