Food Distribution to Resume in Wakiso

President Museveni has revealed that the process of giving food to the vulnerable poor Ugandans that were affected by the virus-induced lockdown is to resume in Wakiso district and other parts of the country.

“We will resume the process of giving out relief food in Wakiso and other districts. About 1.8 million Ugandans have so far got the relief food items provided by the government,” Museveni said yesterday June, 1 while addressing the nation from Nakasero State House about the status of coronavirus in the country.

In light of the novel coronavirus pandemic, the government of Uganda launched a relief program that would see about 43 million Ugandans supported with relief food items.

The food items that would be offered by the government included, 6kgs of Maize flour, beans, salt and milk for lactating mothers.

The program came into play on April,4 and started with Wakiso district and Kampala.

There have, however, been complaints that some people in Kampala did not receive food.
