The Kampala City Lord mayor has congratulated the newly appointed leaders at the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) led by the Executive Director, Dorothy Kisaka. The Lord mayor who was attending the inauguration ceremony of the new leaders at the city council hailed the outbreak going leaders and also promised to support the newly appointed leaders throughout their tenure.
“It would, however, be a glaring omission and, indeed, an act of ingratitude if I did not recognise the unflinching efforts of my colleagues who have indefatigably worked for this historic victory. I definitely owe a great debt of gratitude to our unwavering and always committed legal team and comrades in various political parties, formations or pressure groups that spoke in unison that; “OMULOODI WAALI”,” Lukwago said.
The Lord Mayor in the same vein congratulated all the elected Authority councillors and cautioned them to always respect the oath of office they took.
“The challenges before us are quite enormous, though not insurmountable. The dire state of affairs in Kampala calls for concerted efforts to completely overhaul and turn it around into a modern and functional capital city that would bring out the true image and pride of the Pearl of Africa,” Lukwago said.
During the handover ceremony, the Lord Mayor also reiterated his manifesto which was enormously endorsed by the people of Kampala and approved by the Authority.
The newly appointed leaders include Ms. Dorothy Kisaka who is now the new executive director of KCCA, David Luyimbazi Ssali as the deputy executive director, Dr Daniel Okello Ayen as director of public health and environment, Ms Grace Akullo as director of human resource and administration, among others.
