President Yoweri Museveni has named Justice Alphonse Owiny Dollo the new Chief Justice, to replace Bart Katureebe who recently retired.
Katureebe stepped down two months back after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70 years.
Owiny who has been serving in the same position in acting role was previously serving as the Deputy Chief Justice since September 2017.
Museveni also appointed Justice Richard Butera as the Deputy Chief Justice.
The duo awaits confirmation by the Parliamentary Appointments committee to start executing their roles.
