Defender Obenchan Returns to KCCA

Startimes Uganda Premier League side Kampala Capital City Authority – KCCA have re-signed utility defender and old by Fillbert Obenchan.

According to a statement from the KCCA, Obenchan who left the club in July 2021 has signed a three and a half years’ contract and will serve the club from January 2022 until June 2025.

A graduate of the KCCA soccer academy, Obenchan previously served for six years in the Club’s senior team since his promotion in 2017.

During the six years, he had a loan spell at UPDF FC (then Simba FC) but this was cut short and he was returned to Lugogo mid season of 2017-2018.

On his return, the right back earned himself a place in the first team and was a key member during the successive years of former KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi.

During his first stint at KCCA, Obenchan won, one CECAFA Clubs Cup, one Uganda Cup, one Uganda Premier League Title, two Super Cups and one super 8 cup.

He was also an integral member of KCCA FC’s 2018 CAF Champions League squad.
