Kampala’s premier nightspot, Club Guvnor has joined friends, relatives and fans of the late Ivan Semwanga to mourn the deceased South African –based Ugandan business man.
Semwanga died on Thursday morning at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria, South Africa.
In their eulogy for Semwanga, the staff and management of Guvnor described him as a “more than life character”.
Ivan Semwanga was a regular customer at Club Guvnor and a few other top Kampala nightspots. The nightspots often hosted his Rich Gang crew theme parties every year.
“On behalf of the staff and management of Guvnor Uganda, words can’t express how saddened we are to hear of the loss of our patron and dear friend Ivan Semwanga. To say Ivan was a larger than life character would be an understatement! He will always be remembered by the very happy memories of his life that he so joyously shared with us all,” Club Guvnor’s eulogy read on Facebook.
“Our deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to his family. May the memories you hold strengthen and comfort you through this very tragic time. And may your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. Rest in Perfect Peace “Don Ivan”. You are gone too soon. And your absence is already felt,” it added.
Club Play, another top nightclub in Kampala has also eulogized Semwanga, who they described as their “beloved partner, brother, and loyal customer”.
“The management of CLUB PLAY is extending great sorrow because of the big loss of our beloved partner, brother, and Loyal customer Ivan Semwanga. He has been a good person to be missed, it’s a pity to the family of the deceased. MAY HIS SOUL REST IN ETERNAL PEACE,” read Club Play’s message.
