Ibanda District Chairperson, Happy Herbert Mayanja, has been declared unopposed for his second term in office.

The announcement was made on Friday by the Ibanda District Election Administrator, Aidah Barekye, who confirmed that no other candidate had come forward to contest the position.

“After the nomination period closed, no aspirant emerged to challenge the incumbent. Therefore, Mr. Happy Herbert Mayanja has been duly declared unopposed for the seat of District Chairperson,” Barekye stated.

This marks the second time Mayanja has secured the position without opposition. In 2021, he was similarly declared unopposed during the elections.

In his acceptance remarks, Mayanja thanked the people of Ibanda for their continued confidence in his leadership. “I sincerely thank the people of Ibanda for believing in me once again. This is not just a personal win, but a victory for the entire district,” he said.

He further pledged to remain committed to improving service delivery and driving development initiatives across the district. “I assure you that I will continue championing better service delivery, accountability, and development in all corners of Ibanda. Together, we shall achieve more,” Mayanja added.

With this declaration, Mayanja is set to serve another five-year term at the helm of Ibanda District leadership.
