URA FC Without Key Players as They Visit UPDF in Crucial Survival Clash

URA FC will be missing several key players when they travel to face UPDF FC in a Uganda Premier League match on Friday at Bombo Barracks.

Left-back Dissan Galiwango remains sidelined after sustaining a head cut during the game against BUL, even though he played in the subsequent match against Police.

Goalkeeper Abdul Magada, Hudu Mulikyi, Frank Olimi Nyarwa, and Joseph Ssemujju are also unavailable due to injuries, while Arthur Kiggundu will undergo a late fitness test.

The Tax Collectors head into the fixture on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Police, a match in which they surrendered the lead after Joshua Lubwama had given them an early advantage.

“We have tried to rectify the mistakes made against Police,” coach Hussein Mbalangu said ahead of the clash.

Mbalangu described the game as crucial and difficult, noting that both teams are fighting to avoid relegation.

URA FC currently sit 11th on the league table with 23 points, just one place above UPDF FC, who have 20 points. Mathematically, both sides remain at risk of relegation.

“We are expecting a very hard game. We are also in a similar situation, so we are playing for our lives,” Mbalangu added.

He further noted that the fixture is particularly important as URA FC have gone three games without a win and are yet to secure a victory on the road this season.

Overall, the Tax Collectors have failed to win any of their last four matches, collecting just one point from a draw against BUL and suffering defeats to Police, NEC FC, and Express FC.

In the first-round encounter, URA FC won a thrilling five-goal contest 3-2 at Nakivubo, with Moses Aliro scoring a brace and George Masembe netting the other goal.

UPDF FC, on the other hand, enter the match in better form, having collected six points from their last three games, including a convincing 5-2 away victory over BUL.

Emmanuel Manu Ochen scored twice in that win, while Ivan Bogere, Enrique Lubwama, and Rashidi Faridi each contributed a goal to secure maximum points for the army side.
