Kyadondo East MP Aspirant and singer, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine has cast his vote this morning at a few minutes to 9:00AM.
Bobi Wine is contesting for the Kyadondo East Constituency MP seat, which fell vacant after Court of Appeal threw threw out Forum for Democratic (FDC) Party’s Apollo Kantinti on grounds that the Electoral Commission did not comply with electoral rules.
The singer arrived at Magere polling station in the company of his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi and some members of his crew.
The couple successfully cast their vote amidst cheers from supporters although there was a small delay as Barbie’s name was hard to find in the register.
“I have finished casting my voteand of course I voted myself; I want to urge all people to come and vote. I want to also urge people to remain at polling stations and guard our vote but most importantly, let’s stay peaceful,” said Bobi Wine after casting his vote.
Bobi Wine is facing Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) candidate Apollo Kantinti and NRM’s Sitenda Ssebalu among others.
