Condolence messages continue to trickle in to the family of the late Andrew Felix Kaweesi, the spokesperson of the Uganda Police, gunned down Friday morning about 100 metres outside his home in Kulambiro, Nakawa in Kampala.

Kaweesi, his driver Godfrey Wambewo and body guard Kenneth Erau, were heading to work.

Prime minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda praised Kaweesi’s expertise.
“The late Andrew Felix Kaweesi was an honorable man who handled national affairs with expertise,” Rugunda said.

First Son Muhoozi Kainerugaba tweeted: “Today is a dark day for the country. Our dear friend and comrade AIGP Kaweesi was taken from us in a cowardly attack.
Information and ICT minister Frank Tumwebaze tweeted: “RIP my friend.U stood firm 4 the public gd against all odds.Ur power of articulation was unequalled .We r #bleeding.”
Government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo also tweeted: “#RIPKaweesi We shall continue to soldier on with the tasks at hand even in the eyes of cruel hands of death.”
