Bishop Stuart University students Strike over “Fake Practical Lectures”

Students at the Bishop Stuart University in the Mbarara Town of Western Uganda have held a demonstration over lack of practical lectures.

The students, most of whom pursue agriculture courses, marched at the campus holding placards.

They claim they have not had practical lessons since the semester started.

They also claimed that their faculty was being neglected.

“We want equality in all faculties,” read a placard.

The students also argued that the practical lessons they had previously got were “fake, marks-minded and not [meant] for skills”.

They have vowed not to sit exams if they are not taught the necessary practical lessons.

Another placard read: “Without practicals, no exams.”
