Monday Atigo is seeking re-election as Uganda North American Association (UNAA) President and CEO in September this year.
The 35-year-old has been UNAA President from 2015 to 2017 and is now contesting for a second term.
Speaking to The Tower Post in an interview, Atigo noted that he had many achievements in his first term as UNAA Presdient and has a lot more to offer.
“I have had several achievements such as delivering my promise to bring UNAA Causes back to UNAA by creating a Harmonization Committee with representatives from both sides,” said Atigo.
“I have also championed a partnership between UNAA and Uganda Fistula Fund and “Terrewode” hence the Buy a Brick Campaign to Fundraise for a Fistula Hospital in Soroti Uganda. Once completed, it will be the third of its kind in Africa,” he added.
Atigo is contesting Dr. Daniel Busuulwa Kawuma, a practicing Pharmacist in the United States.
The UNAA elections are scheduled for Sunday, September 3rd, 2017 during the 29th Annual UNAA Convention and Trade Expo, taking place from September 1st to September 3rd 2017 in Miami, Florida.
About Monday Atigo
Monda Atigo is the current President and CEO of the Uganda North American Association (2015-2017). Before that, he was the UNAA Vice President from 2013-2015.
He also served as the leader of the Mobilization & Outreach Committee for the hugely successful 25th Annual UNAA Convention – Dallas 2013 and served as Secretary of the UNAA Electoral Commission of 2011.
He was previously the President & Treasurer of the Ugandan American Association of Greater Dallas Fort Worth (UAA-DFW).
With an entrepreneurial spirit, Monday is self-employed, and previously served as the Guest Services Manager at the then newly opened Omni Fort Worth Hotel Downtown.
He has also served as the Assistant Front Office Manager, and Guest Services Manager at the Omni Austin Downtown Hotel, Austin Texas.
Born in Kampala, Uganda; Mr. Atigo is a graduate of Kibuli Secondary School. He attended Makerere University Kampala (MUK) in 2000, before moving to the United States on an Athletic Soccer Scholarship at Alabama A&M University in 2002.
He holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix and attended the University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio Texas on a Soccer Scholarship where he earned his Bachelor’s of Business Administration (BBA) in 2006.
