South Africa’s PJ Powers to Hold Concert in Kampala on Same Day as Chameleone

Legendary South African singer Penelope Jane Dunlop popularly known by her stage name, PJ Powers is set to headline a charity concert in Kampala.

Scheduled for June 30th at the Kampala Serena Hotel, the “Jabulani Charity Concert” is organized by Girl Up Initiative Uganda, a youth-led community development organisation currently operating in Kampala that provides girls and young women with opportunities to thrive as leaders  in their communities through a holistic education and economic empowerment programmes.

This website has however learnt, that the Charity Concert happens to fall on the same date (June 30th, 2017) singer Jose Chameleone’s 2017 music concert dubbed “Legend Hit After Hit”, which is to be held at Lugogo Cricket Oval.

According to Monica Nyiraguhabwa, the Executive Director Girl Up Initiative Uganda, the PJ Powers Charity Concert is aimed at raising funds to support their different programmes.

”Our organization depends on foreign donors and to be able to raise money locally is something that will be very new for us and we are very excited,” Monica Nyiraguhabwa says.

PJ Powers is popular in Uganda for her hit songs like, “Jabulani”, “There is an Answer”, “World In Union”, and “Home to Africa”, whose remix she recently did with Ugandan singers Radio and Weasel.
