Bobi Wine Released, Speaks Out on His Arrest

Musician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu better known by his stage name, Bobi Wine has been released after spending  hours in detention at Kira Division police Headquarters.

The Kyadondo East MP Aspirant was this morning arrested after he refused to follow police orders instructing him to abandon the campaign rally that was meant to be held at Kasangati Saza Grounds.

Speaking to journalists after his release, Bobi Wine revealed that he has decided to move his rally to Gayaza.

“I have been released. I haven’t broken any law. I was supposed to be at Kasangati Grounds today but the DPC says the president wants to use that venue, that’s why my rally has been blocked,” the singer said.

This website has learnt that President Yoweri Museveni is expected in Kyadodo East Constituency today to campaign for NRM candidate Sitenda Ssebalu.

“I will move my rally to Gayaza because I don’t want to cause to cause chaos, I simply want to address my supporters. I call upon my supporters to remain peaceful,” Bobi Wine noted.

By publication time, Bobi Wine and his supporters were leaving Kira Divison Police escorted by Police, heading to Gayaza, where the final campaign rally has been moved to.
