Police Blocks Bobi Wine’s Kasangati Rally, Singer Arrested

Police has Tuesday morning arrested independent MP aspirant for the Kyadondo East seat, Robert SSentongo Kyagulanyi alis Bobi Wine.

Bobi Wine was together with multitudes of his supporters headed for his final campaign rally that was to be held today (Tuesday, 27th June) at Kasangati Saza Grounds.

The singer started the day by mobilizing his supporters to turn up for the rally that was supposed to kick off at 12:00PM but was blocked by police  from accessing the grounds.

He was later arrested after he refused to follow police orders instructing him to abandon the campaign rally.

Bobi Wine currently held at Kasangati Police Station.

This website has learnt that President Yoweri Museveni is expected in Kyadodo East Constituency today to campaign for NRM candidate Sitenda Ssebalu, hence the heavy police deployment in the area.

Bobi Wine’s supporters have currently gathered outside at Kasagati Police demanding for the singer’s release.

This comes when only a few days are left to the Kyadondo East Constituency Member of Parliament by-elections slated for Thursday, June 29th.

We shall keep you posted.
