It will be remembered that French Montana earlier this year visited Uganda to shoot his “Unforgettable” music video with the Triplets Ghetto Kids dancers, an experience he describes as “unforgettable”.
While in Uganda, the rapper also extend help to people in need. He visited Suubi Health Centre, located in Iganga district and donated $100,000 (about Ush 360,000,0000) to expand the health centre, whose biggest challenge was lack of enough room to accommodate all the patients. The health centre serves a population of 56,000 people.
He went on to launch an online campaign called #Unforgettable that has helped fund a blood bank, premature incubators, cribs and other maternity supplies.
Montana also recently met with H.E Dr. Adonia Ayebare, the Ugandan Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Uganda to the United Nations to discuss matters concerning the health of mothers and children in Uganda.
This financial year (2017/2017) the health sector got a cut of 0.3 per cent; from being allocated Shs1.827 trillion last year to Shs1.823 trillion this year.
Works and transport got the biggest increment in the 2017/2018 national budget, at 21 per cent, compared to the previous year’s allocation. The sector was allocated Shs4.5 trillion to spend; up from Shs3.8 trillion.
