Authorities in Uganda Police Force have spoken out on the raid on Kampala Central Police station (CPS) armoury in which guns and bullets were stolen.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander Frank Mwesigwa, the two AK47 guns and 60 bullets stolen in the Saturday night raid have been recovered.
Mwesigwa told reporters in Nansana on Monday: “It was an internal job and we have arrested the armoury guard and someone from outside.”
A committee has since been instituted to investigate the crime.

2013 – Robbers broke into Kamuge Prisons armoury in Pallisa District armoury and stole two submachine guns and 54 bullets in.
2012 – 11 submachine guns were stolen from security operatives.
