Makerere University Chief Security Officer (CSO) SP. Jackson Japheth Mucunguzi has been replaced, The Tower Post reports.

Mucunguzi, dubbed OB, for his relationship with Makerere students will be replaced by ACP Enock Abeine who is fresh from a course at the Command and Staff College in Bwebajja, Wakiso District.

He served as Makerere’s CSO since his appointment in September 2015. He was responsible for all the campus’ halls, hostels and all the university installations.

In his two-year term, Mucunguzi has been a bridge between the students, administration and the Police, negotiating peace and calm during student strikes.

Prior to his appointment, he worked as the Officer in Charge (O/C) Makerere Police station before being appointed DPC for Wandegeya Police station in February 2015.

The Tower Post understands that Mucunguzi will be going for a refresher course at the Command and Staff College.
