Nine months after their romantic engagement, popular singer Ykee Benda and his longtime lover Julie Batenga’s love relationship has come to an end.

It will be remembered that Ykee Benda proposed to Julie and she said “yes” at a romantic dinner date in April 2017 and would later visit her family in what is traditionally known as “Kukyala”.

The two had been dating for over 9 years.

The “Malaika” hitmaker revealed that their relationship was over in a touching post via Facebook.

“These are gonna be some dark days maybe months I don’t know…for both of us. But i Know there will be light at some point. I will forever celebrate you and wish you nothing but bliss N Happiness…I can barely write another statement, my heart is pumping too fast.  Goodbye and God bless you Julie Batenga,” Ykee Benda wrote on Facebook.

While some fans were quick to conclude that the singer was simply making a publicity stunt, a close friend to the couple confirmed to this website that they had split.

“Yes it’s true they have broken up,” said the source who preferred anonymity.

The source however declined to give information about the cause of the split.
