Former Buyende District Police Commander Muhammad Kirumira’s wife Mariam kirumira has given birth to a baby boy, The Tower Post has learnt.

Mrs Kirumira gave birth at 3:00PM on Tuesday at Rubaga Hospital and according to a close relative, both the mother and the baby are in good health.

This website understands that the baby has been named Kaweesi, an instruction that Kirumira sent through his father.

The new bundle of joy comes at a time when Kirumira is still remanded by the Police Tribunal, battling charges of extortion, unlawful exercise of authority and corruption.

The police officer has been held at different detention facilities since his arrest on February 1st, 2018.
