Police has today evening shot and killed Yasin Kawuma, a driver to Kyadondo East Legislator Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine.

Whereas reasons for Police’s use of lethal force remain scattered, an eye witness in the West Nile town told this website that the chaos was started by people in Bobi Wine’s rally.

“People in Bobi Wine’s camp threw stones at Museveni’s motorcade, SFC in turn fired live bullets to the people throwing stones,” said an eye witness who preferred anonymity so as to speak freely.

The Tower Post however couldn’t independently verify these claims.

But its common knowledge that Arua people get rowdy and uncontrollable especially during elections and most public gatherings.

Earlier this month, Police had to fire bullets to disperse criminal gangs who had started wreaking havoc on self-styled tycoon Bryan White and his crew.

The same kind of chaos was witnessed during the burial of their area legislator Ibrahim Abiriga who was murdered a few months back.

Controversy

However, unconfirmed social media reports indicate that the car where Yasin was shot from, was in the hotel parking where Bobi Wine was staying.

“And yet the hotel is quite a distance from the road which the President’s motorcade was using,” the post further reads.
