Yusuf Kawooya, a Democratic Party (DP) member brutally arrested last week, has been released on police bond, after spending days in detention.
Kawooya said he felt a lot of pain.
His family said it would help him get better treatment.
On Tuesday, family members, including Kawooya’s sister Sharifah Nakitende and father Habib Jingo visited him at Special Investigations Unit (SIU) in Kireka.
Nakawa MP Michael Kabaziguruka confirmed Kawooya’s release.
“I have secured the release of Yusuf Kawooya on police bond. Thank you all for your prayers,” wrote Kabaziguruka.
