Museveni and Kagame Sign Cooperation Agreement

Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni and Rwanda’s Paul Kagame on Wednesday signed an agreement on regional cooperation.

Signed in Luanda, Angola, the Quadripartite Summit agreement, was also signed by the heads-of-state from Congo, Angola and the DRC.

The agreement also touches on issues of regional security.

Museveni and Kagame are meeting for the second time in two months to discuss the frosty relations between Kigali and Kampala.

Angola is working towards easing tensions between Uganda and Rwanda that saw the latter close her border with the former in March.

In just a fortnight, Angola’s foreign minister was a visitor in both Uganda and Rwanda.

In the July meeting, that happened with the efforts of Angola’s President Joao Lourenço, there was reportedly political will for further dialogue from both Museveni and Kagame.
