Police Boss, Okoth Ochola, Makes Major Reshuffles in the Force

40 police officers have been transferred to new stations, many of whom will have new tasks different from the old.

Most notably, Commissioner of Police, Herman Owomugisha, who has been the commander, Very Important Persons Protection Unit (VIPPU) has been transferred to the Field Force Unit (FFU) as the operations commander.

Owomugisha previously served as the Police Flying Squad Unit commander and the Anti- Terrorism unit commandant for Entebbe airport.

Other changes are;

Commissioner of Police, Hadija Namutebi who has been under the Chief Political Commissariat has been made VIPPU commander.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Moses Otaala is not part of VIPPU anymore as new changes have thrown him to the docket of Police Directorate of Welfare and Production. He is the officer in charge mobilization and coordination to Operation Wealth Creation.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Patrick Lawot who formerly had no deployment is now the deputy commandant for the VIPPU.

Katonga region spokesperson, Superintendent of Police, Phillip Mukasa has been appointed District Police Commander Apac while Superintendent of Police, Richard Tamale has been moved from the Field Force Unit to greater Masaka region as the Deputy Regional Police Commander.

Superintendent of Police Moses Okello has been transferred from the Field Force Unit to Wamala region as the Deputy Regional Police Commander.

The IGP  has also overturned a number of reshuffles that had been implemented during the term of former IGP, Gen.Kale Kayihura.
