IGP Okoth Ochola Summoned Over Bobi Wine Concerts

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Martins Okoth Ochola together with the Attorney General, Mr William Byaruhanga have been summoned by High Court Judge Lydia Mugambe over a case regarding Bobi Wine’s concerts. A number of music promoters filed a case against the police challenging the force’s decision to indefinitely stop them from staging Bobi’s “Kyarenga extra concerts.”

The concerts were billed to happen at One Love Beach Busabala, Lira and Gulu respectively.

The case was supposed to be heard yesterday, but the IGP and Attorney General were not present.

“We cannot have this matter heard without the other two parties. Let us adjourn the matter for the respondents to appear,” ruled Justice Mugambe. She set October 31 for the hearing of the case.
In April 19, assistant IGP Assuman Mugenyi asked police commanders to block all planned music concerts by Mr Kyagulanyi. The concerts were organized by Abtex, real names,Abyy Musingizi and Bajjo Events.
