Word has been doing the rounds that dfcu Bank intends to close 22 of its branches across the country beginning October 14.
dfcu quashed the reports in a statement released on Sunday morning. The bank revealed that a notice implying that 22 branches were closed was a fake one, and should be disregarded.
“In the last 24 hours there has been a false notice and other nonfactual stories circulating on social media. [dfcu] wishes to clarify that the purported notice in respect to branch closures is false and did not originate from dfcu Bank,” the statement reads in part.
dfcu currently has 63 branches across the country.
The bank is in the process of implementing its digital strategy to align with growing trends in the financial sector.
