Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga Accused of Land Grabbing

Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga is in a spot of bother. Enanga is being accused by some of his family members for using police resources to evict people from their family land located in Oreta village, Amui parish – Akokoro Sub-county in Apac District.

Enanga’s grandfather, Naphatali Enanga told the land commission earlier this week that the police publicist had evicted residents from a 4 square mile piece of land using police.

On Wednesday, Enanga appeared before the commission of inquiry into land matters to defend himself on the allegations.

The police spokesman is accused together with his father George Echonga.

Enanga told the commission that he was born on the disputed land in 1973, adding that it belonged to his grandfather Enos Okabo. And the rest of the family members got a share of what beloved to Okabo.

Enanga asked Catherine Bamugemereire’s commission to investigate the issue to the roots and establish the facts on the ground.

The police spokesman said he has plans together with his father to establish a mixed farm but Naphatali and a few other family members have been frustrating them. The land is registered in the names of Auilodyang Mixed Farm co-owned by Enanga and his father Echonga.
