Police has confirmed that they have seized items including mobile phones from raided shops in down town Kampala.

The raid which lasted over 2 hours was executed in four malls including Mutaasa Kafeero, Kalungi Plaza, Majestic Plaza and Gazaland.

According to a police search certificate seen by The Tower Post, the search was headed by ASP Okello from the Police Criminal Investigations Directorate.

The certificate further reveals that some of the individuals whose shops were searched include Alex Senfuma and a one Fred.

“Mobile phones of different types” were seized according to the police certificate.

The phones are believed to be part of those stolen by criminal gangs from members of the public.

This comes barely a day after Police arrested a one Allan Ggayi, who is suspected to be part of a gang that raided Kawempe retail and mobile money shops.

He was found carrying over 160 mobile phones in a car.
