Rebecca Kadaga Condemns Police Brutality Against Opposition Leaders

The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga is not pleased with how the police perpetually brutalizes opposition leaders. The Speaker voiced her dismay during a sitting on Tuesday. She wondered whether   the country still operates under a multi party system.

“I wonder whether multi-party system is being practiced in good spirit. The government register political parties and funds them but these parties are not allowed to meet, organise and do anything,” she submitted.

The house was debating about Kizza Besigye’s recent arrest during which he was sprayed with a water canon splash, and his car destroyed.

Besigye, a four-time presidential candidate and other Opposition leaders of FDC, had planned to convene a conference at Namboole Stadium on Monday.

FDC intended to hold a two-day leadership party seminar to discuss their strategy for the 2021 General Election.
