EC Extends Voter Registration Exercise Again

Ugandans have seven more days to update their voter registration information after the Electoral Commission extending the period for the updating of the National Voters register for seven more days.

Last week EC  extended the exercise for 5 days, which run out today on Monday.

The EC however said the exercise has been pushed to the 23rd of December 2019.

According to EC Spokesman Jotham Taremwa one of the reasons that has led to the extension of the deadline is are the heavy rains that been deterring people from leaving their homes.

He says they also got recommendations that the period given first was not enough. Taremwa says there won’t be anymore extension after this.
