Evelyn Anite Asks American Company to Invest in UTL

The State Minister for Finance in charge of Privatisation, Evelyn Anite has interested an American technology company to invest into the Uganda Telecom Limited.

Investors from Mark43, a software company funded by Amazon co-founder, Jeff Bezos jetted into the country with interest to invest in Communication Technology. Anite told reps of the company when they visited her that they are welcome to invest in various sectors such as; Agriculture, Tourism, Oil and gas, Education, Health and other sector and others. Even though she gave them options, she particularly pointed out Uganda Telecom as a good investment for them and the country.

She believes the investors have the potential to revive UTL’s lost glory.

Mark43 investors came on an invitation from the East African Partners (EAP) Managing Director, Isaac Kigozi who took them through a number of Uganda’s vast investment opportunities.

The team intends to export advanced technology into the country.
