Forum for Democratic Party’s Doreen Nyanjura is among councillors who have been appointed by Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago as executive members. This is in fulfilment of the new amended Kampala Capital City Authority Act.

Nyanjura has been appointed as the minister for finance and administration. Others are Sarah Kanyike who is now the minister of gender and community services. She will also oversee production and city markets.

Olive Namazzi (Kyambogo University female councillor) was appointed minister of health education and sports and she will also oversee environmental affairs.

Kennedy Okello (Nakawa II male councillor) was appointed minister of works and physical planning and he will also oversee the engineering services

The appointment comes at the back of the elections for speaker of KCCA. Councillors elected Abubaker Kawalya of Rubga North as the council speaker while Bruhan Byaruhanga was elected deputy speaker.
