Bobi on Meeting with Muhoozi: I Can’t Discuss with My Tormentors

Presidential hopeful and Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi commonly known as Bobi Wine has ruled out the possibility of meeting with Lt. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Appearing on the NBS TV’s Morning Breeze on Wednesday, Kyagulanyi said he is not yet a free man and therefore he is in no position to talk to Muhoozi.

Muhoozi who is the former commander of the Special Forces and currently the Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations shared through a tweet that his supporters were requesting him to meet with Bobi Wine. The First Son said he was willing to meet him, describing Bobi as a friend.

Appearing on a political talk show on Wednesday, Bobi said there is nothing for him to talk with Muhoozi.

“What is there for me to talk with Muhoozi when his father is stepping on my neck? It is important to have good ground for conversation. Let them stop killing Ugandans and stepping on my neck. Nelson Mandela said, only free men can negotiate.”

Bobi Wine said Muhoozi is on the side of his tormentors who almost killed him in Arua and therefore he is not ready to meet him.

The People Power leader was also asked about his meeting with Tumukunde, he said meets everyone who shows interest in causing change. He welcomed Lt. Gen Henry Tumukunde in the ‘struggle to free Uganda’.

Tumukunde is among 29 people who have so far expressed interest in running for President.
