Journalists Blocked Out of Museveni Address Due to CoronaVirus

The Statehouse has called off the mandate of journalists ahead of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s national briefing on the novel Covid-19 pandemic.

The fountain of honour is expected to be broadcasting live on all national television and radio at 5 pm today Wednesday 18th March 2020. Among what is expected to be highlighted about is public gatherings, public means of transport and closure of schools.

According to the senior press secretary, Lindah Nabusayi, the cancelling is to help combat the risk of a possible spread of the virus.
She informed that the address will be limited to only members of the Presidential Press Unit (PPU) who will relay the footage to other media houses from Entebbe.

“There will be no access to any other media to State House. We were advised by the relevant health officials against the meeting,” Nabusayi said.

Uganda is the only country after Burundi that has not yet confirmed any case of Coronavirus.

The government has so far issued travel restrictions against nationals of 16 most affected countries, these include; Italy, San Marion, South Korea, France, China, Belgium, US, UK, Netherlands, Iran, Norway and many others..
