The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi has donated shs.100M towards the national task force to help in the fight against coronavirus.
The Kabaka who is not in the country currently sent his donation through Prince David Wasajja on Tuesday. Wasajja presented the cheque to the Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda, and read a letter from the Kabaka. In the letter, the Kabaka assured that he was going be behind the government through this battle.
He also thanked Ugandans for adhering to the guidelines issued by the President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the Ministry of Health.
Buganda Kingdom had earlier donated masks.
President Museveni invited Ugandans who can afford to contribute to whatever they can to the national taskforce. The response has been positive.
