The Ministry of Education and Sports has embarked on the process of drafting new guidelines that will be followed by all candidate classes and finalists in higher institutions of learning as the government prepares to ease the virus-induced lockdown.
Dr. Chrizstom Muyingo, the minister of Higher Education told parliament on May 20, that his ministry will release guidelines that will be followed by teachers and students after the government has eased the Lockdown.
“We are having several meetings with the officials in the education ministry. One of the key issues we are discussing are the guidelines to be followed by the teachers and students after the Lockdown is lifted,” Muyingo said.
While addressing the nation on the status of the country the fight against the virus on May 18, the president cited that candidates and finalists will have to resume school after 14 days.
President Museveni ordered the closure of schools across the country on March 18, in an attempt to stem the spread of coronavirus.
