Cask Lounge Manager Arrested for Defying Museveni Directives on Bars

The manager of Cask Lounge and Restaurant along John Babiha Avenue in Kololo has been arrested by Police for breach of Presidential directives on opening of bars.

Aaron Merid was picked up in a Sunday evening operation mounted by Kira Road Police station. He was arrested and is still under detention.

Since the break out of the Covid19 pandemic in Uganda, President Museveni closed all bars indefinitely although some have been sneaking around and hosting revelers.

Cask Lounge is one of the bars that has been hosting events before Police cracked whip on them.

The Sunday event was being hosted by fast rising events organisers Muchachos and Eventix of the famous Siesta Wednesdays at H2O lounge and Sunday Fun day at Laparoni’s.

In the same operation, over 20 revelers were arrested for Najjera based La Venti bar.

According to Presidential Press Secretary Don Wanyama, the arrested will undergo 14-days’ quarantine before being arraigned in court.
