Human rights defender Nicholas Opio has been arrested by security forces and taken to an unknown location, The Tower Post has learnt.
According to sources, Nicholas Opio was picked from a restaurant in Kamwokya.
Opio is the proprietor of Chapter Four, a local law firm that over the years condemned the acts of the ruling regime.
Recently with a couple of other lawyers Opio was looking into the mass death of 50 people in the recent riots across Uganda and sources argue that this could be one of the reasons he was arrested.
By press time, there was no comment from security forces on why Opio was arrested and taken to an unknown location.
