Ugandan star Musician Eddy Kenzo has been nominated for the 2023 Grammy Awards.
Eddy Kenzo was nominated in the category of Best Global Music Performance for his song titled “Gimme Love”, a collaboration with American singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer Matt B.
“We are so grateful to God almighty for such a great moment in our country Uganda. My brother @mattbworld thank you for being such a great talent. @gscelsa@angelavbenson@steynmusic thank you guys for this record. My fellow artist I wanna thank you, this is for all of us. And to my motherland Uganda thank you for raising me. We are in #Grammys@recordingacademy,” Eddy Kenzo wrote on Social Media after the nominations were announced on Tuesday November 15th.
The Grammy Awards nomination is a dream come true for Eddy Kenzo and his fans. It will will be remembered that he became the first East African artiste to win a BET Award in the year 2015 for the category of Best International Act – Africa. He has also won a number of other international music awards.
The news of the nomination comes a few days after the star singer held a massive concert dubbed The Eddy Kenzo Festival which attract over 50,000 people at Kololo Airstrip in Kampala on Saturday 12th November 2022.
The 2023 GRAMMYs, officially known as the 65th GRAMMY Awards will be held on 5th February 2023 in Los Angeles, Carlifornia.
